When I have multiple colors of a product, then I know that it’s probably a good product. Looking through my makeup collection, I’ve found several product that I own multiples of. And I figured that’s a great place to start when telling you what I like to use.
First up are my Maybelline Color Tattoo cream eyeshadows.
These are found both in Germany and America, though they’re going to run a bit cheaper in America. I love them because they’re easy to apply, either with fingers or with a brush – I use fingers when I want to be quick or build up color and a brush when I want a little more precision, and once they set, they aren’t going anywhere. It has been hot this summer, and they are champs and staying to my eyelids and not creasing or getting all over the place. Though, they can set quickly, so I would suggest that if you make any mistakes, get it off quickly or you may have to use makeup remover.
The ones I use the most are in the shades Bad to the Bronze, Barely Branded, and Pink Gold. Bad to the Bronze and Barely Branded are great neutral shades that bring a metallic shimmer to the eye. I will either use just one over the whole eyelid or Barely Branded over the middle two thirds with Bad to the Bronze on the outer third. Pink Gold is that ubiquitous rose-gold color that is everywhere right now, and I really like it because it suits my skin tone and eye color nicely.
The ones I use the least are Too Cool, Metallic Pomegranate, and Tough As Taupe. Too Cool is nice, but I don’t like the white all on it’s own. I will occasionally use it as a base if I want a little extra sparkle in my eyeshadow. I believe Metallic Pomegranate is new, or at least I only recently started seeing it. It’s a nice burgundy with gold shimmer, but a little too dark this time of year. I think it will look great in the fall and winter when paired with Barely Branded, but that is just speculation for now. Tough As Taupe is my only matte shade and the only one I really don’t like. It just doesn’t go on as smoothly as the other ones and it looks strange on my eyes. On occasion, I’ve used it as a base, but it can set a little too quickly to work with easily. I’d definitely give that shade a pass.
Are there any other colors I should be picking up? What products do you have multiples of?
